Bites of Inequality – Pedro Salas-Rojo
Housing takes a bigger bite: About housing costs and the distribution of income.

In the first lecture of the semester, Pedro Salas-Rojo from CUNEF University examines housing costs since the 1980s and shows that the burden has not been distributed evenly. The bottom fifth of households now spend about 10 percentage points more of their income on housing, while the top fifth still spends the same.
The reasons for this and the consequences lead to a perspective that examines how housing costs influence wealth inequality over time.
